Top 10 bands like RAMMSTEIN

Let's face it - there will never be any band which can replace the german industrial metal band Rammstein, whether it's about the music or the smoking hot live-shows. But there are a few bands out there which a lot of fans should give a try. These are my top 10 bands which reminds me of Rammstein.

1. KMFDM ("Kein Mitleid Für Die Mehrheit")

This is a band which have a common history with Rammstein. Beeing originally from Germany and touring together back in 1997, KMFDM is a worldwide known band. Every album offers a lot of musical complexity which fits both to more relaxed situations all the way to the gym-session. You can't do a fair musical comparison with another band but I'd say that this is where Kraftwerk, Nine inch nails and Rammstein meet. This band is so fricking awesome in all ways possible, there's only one better industrial metal band then KMFDM.. you know which band that is.

2. EISBRECHER

Such a original band, Eisbrecher is probably one of the most well-known german industrial bands. I must admit it myself, this is one of the bands that I do collect items of. This band is just getting better and better by every new album. "Kein mitleid" was the first song I ever heard and I consider it as very symbolic to "Neue deutsche härte"-music."1000 Narben" is one of their most recent songs and probably one of their best tracks. This is a clear sign of an amazing band - Beeing consistent throughout their entire career and never caring more about quanitity then quality. The electronic elements is the key in Eisbrechers music.

3. TURMION KÄTILÖT

Singing in finnish, this industrial metal band with a futuristic theme does offer some of the best songs within industrial metal if you ask me. Finnish fits very well in this unique, fast paced and aggressive style as Turmion always been into. I discovered this band pretty early and have since them been a fan. Musically we can enjoy the industrial-electro elements combined catchy riffs and melodies with a touch of the heavieness from metal. I would refer to this band as Finlands response to Rammstein.

4. ZAVOD

Zavod is a 3-piece industrial machine from Västerås, Sweden. The band is seamingly popular amongst hardcore Rammstein-fans due to their a bit more heavy approach to the industrial metal scene bringing death metal influences without making it taking over the industrial-sound.
This band is very loyal to their fans and ever since I heard their first demosongs I've realized that this band have a rare potential to do something very big. They are currently not signed with any label (The world is a strange place sometimes..). Don't miss out on this band!

5. RAUBTIER

Raubtier is a industrial band originating from Haparanda, Sweden. This band differs a bit from Rammstein since they are singing in swedish and have a much heavier sound and for these reasons my experience is that there are not many Rammstein-fans who listen to this band but I'd highly recommend checking them out because they are very original and should be of interest for you guys. This band is truly a kickass live-band with lyrics written in a more "old" swedish style with a lot of care.

6. MEGAHERZ

Speaking of bands who reminds me of Rammstein I could of course not miss out on Megaherz. This band have been around since 1995 and have at this point released 9 fulllength albums with classic songs such as "Gott sein", "Miststück" and "Ja, genau". The album titled "5" is one of my overall favorite albums. You should check out their more early albums if you want to truly experience this band at their best.

7. OOMPH!

This band is as classic as it could possibly get. Ranging from a very oldschool sound with a song such as "Der neue Gott" all the way to the poprock-song like "Gott ist ein Popstar", displaying a wide variety of musical expertise. Now, I prefer the more old albums because I'm more into the raw and controversial stuff by this band, but I would still recommend the more recent albums even though they are more leaning towards pop and rock.

8. LINDEMANN

Please don't tell me that you've missed out on this project. This is a project by our favorite singer Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren (Pain, Hypocrisy..). This project is musically very underrated so far and the focus have mostly been on the shocking value and controversial themes of the lyrics but the album is musically satisfying and feeling like a combination of Pain and Rammstein. Till have such an amazing voice and it works perfectly both in english and german. This project will not end with just one album, be sure of that.

9. HELDMASCHINE

Started out as a Rammstein coverband named "Völkerball" one would perhaps not expect this band to come up with something new or creative. But the latest album titled "Lugen" did impress me so much. Their cover of the classic Kraftwerk song "Die Roboter" does impress a lot. Musically you can expect something between Eisbrecher and the old Unheilig - In other words: Something awesome.

10. STAHLMANN

This german industrial metalband sounds like a combination of Eisbrecher and Megaherz. I must admit that I did not like their first album as it felt very narrow musically and a bit bland. But just like Heldmaschine, this band did surprise me with their latest album and it's overall format. They even made a song featuring Teufel from Tanzwut, I mean, come on, how cool is that??
